Jolie's lawyer said that Angelina and her children left the properties shared with Pitt eight years ago. Since then, she has focused on finding peace and healing for the family. Jolie signed the court documents on Christmas Day and filed them on Monday.

Throughout 2024, Jolie and Pitt have continued to argue over Miraval, which is separate from their divorce. In November, a judge ruled that Pitt must provide documents, including emails and texts, that Jolie’s lawyer claims will prove her allegations of abuse against Pitt and “years of cover-up.”
In the same month, Pitt had his own victory when a judge rejected Jolie's motions to dismiss the lawsuit. The case is now closer to trial, with potential evidence of a written agreement between them about selling the winery. Pitt's lawyers called Jolie’s request for documents “a sensationalist fishing expedition.”
