How to Watch Premier League in the U.K for FREE and Legally
How Many Premier League Games Are Televised in 2024/2025?
Every season, there are 380 Premier League games, but only 200 will be shown on TV.
For EFL games, it's the same thing. There will be more than 1,650 games in the Championship, League One, and League Two, but you will only be able to watch a little over 1,000 of them.
One big reason for this is the rule that there can't be any power on Saturdays after 3 p.m. There is a law that says from 2:25pm to 5:25pm that day, football games can't be shown on TV.
Now you know that there isn't a single plan that lets you watch all of these games. The Premier League games will be shown by a mix of these companies:
• Sky Sports – 128 Premier League matches
• TNT Sports – 52 Premier League matches, plus all Champions League games
• Amazon Prime – 20 Premier League matches
For the EFL, the entirety of games will be shown on Sky Sports. For Champions League football, you’ll need a TNT subscription.
Note: If you want to watch as many games as possible, it is not cheap. If you don't support one of the big teams, they'll be featured less frequently, potentially increasing the cost per match. Here's how you can pay less to support your team.

Why Are Premier League Games Not on TV?
Some Premier League games aren't shown on UK TV because they want to keep fans in the lower leagues and keep the market from getting too full.
♦ Protecting Lower League Attendance: Because of the 3pm blackout rule, no Premier League, Football League, or FA Cup game can be shown on TV in the UK on a Saturday from 2:45pm to 5:15pm.
Since lower league games start at 3 p.m. on Saturdays, the blackout is meant to get football fans to go to their local team's game instead of watching Premier League games on TV.
♦ Preventing Market Saturation: The Premier League only sells the rights to show about half of its games so that the games continue to be popular and fetch high prices. Because of this, UK TV doesn't show even games that aren't blocked at 3 p.m., like those played during the week or on Sunday afternoons.
The league's former CEO, Richard Scudamore, wanted to make sure that there weren't too many games on TV and that people wanted to watch them. So, the Premier League could keep the market competitive, which let it charge Sky, TNT, and Amazon more for the rights to show its games.
How to Watch the Premier League 2024/2025 on UK TV for Free or Cheapest Ways?
Only selected 200 games are broadcast on TV. These will be split between Sky Sports, TNT Sport and Amazon Prime. Free to air highlights will once again be on the BBC.
You can see selections, as they’re announced, on the Premier League website:

But some service providers only let you log in once. Talk to them or read your plan's terms if you're not sure. |

Also, all Champions League and Europa League games will be shown on TNT, which used to be called BT Sports. Fans will have to sign up for the service to be able to watch the big European games this season. If you have Discovery+, you can stream TNT Sports. Discover+ costs £30.99 to subscribe to through Amazon Prime Video, and you can cancel your plan at any time.
TNT shows a lot of different sports, such as NBA, MotoGP, UFC, Boxing, WWE, and more. Discover+ members can try Amazon Prime for free for 30 days on top of all this great sports action. The Best FREE Streaming Websites to Watch Premier League 2024/2025 Online
We found the best websites (and apps) for live streaming the Premier League by testing both official EPL streaming websites and the most popular free live streams very carefully.
Our strict requirements were met by only a few websites: they are completely real, offer live games in high definition, give users a great experience without any buffering, and show every single Premier League game.
Top 5 Best FREE And Legit Websites to Watch Premier League 2024/2025 Online
Best FREE Premier League Live Streaming Websites And Apps |
1. Setanta Sports
Commentary Language: None
Price: ~£2.35 per month
Stream Type: Live stream
IP Address Required: Ukraine
Compatible VPNs: NordVPN
Official Website: https://setantasports.com/
For about £2.35 a month, you can watch all Premier League games on the best streaming site in Full HD.
We looked into it a lot and found that Setanta Sports is the best site to watch all 380 Premier League games. This service is unique because it covers everything, is cheap, and is easy to use.
It costs over 90% less than Sky Sports and TNT Sports, but it shows more than three times as many games.
We had a great time streaming with Setanta Sports. It didn't buffer, and all of the games were shown in HD. That was also quick. It was simple to find the game by clicking on "Premier League" from the home screen.
Anyone in the world can download the platform's app and use any kind of credit card to pay. Like with Peacock and DAZN, you don't need to make a separate account in the app store or use a third-party payment service.
The only bad thing about Setanta Sports is that the commentaries are not in English. It's already in Ukrainian.
In that case, Setanta Sports will only show the noise from the stadium if you choose English as the language. Like on DAZN, where the commentators spoke a language we didn't understand, this was better for us.
You need an IP address from Ukraine to connect to Setanta, and the service is very strict about blocking VPNs. Only NordVPN worked for us, so that's all you have to choose from.
2. Peacock
Commentary Language: English
Price: ~£4.75 per month
Stream Type: Live stream
IP Address Required: USA
Compatible VPNs: CyberGhost, ExpressVPN, NordVPN, PIA VPN, PrivadoVPN, PrivadoVPN Free, PrivateVPN, Surfshark, Windscribe Free
Official Website: https://www.peacocktv.com/
A cheap and easy-to-use website for streaming Premier League games at 3 p.m.
Peacock is a great US-based streaming service from NBC. It lets you watch live 1080p 60 frames per second Premier League games. It has English commentary and analysis from experts like Lee Dixon and Peter Drury.
Peacock had the best interface out of all the sites we looked at that stream the Premier League. The tile interface looks great and feels high-end. From "Peacock Picks," you can quickly get to the live stream of the game by clicking on the link.
You will have to watch 30 seconds of ads before the video starts if you don't pay for Peacock Premium, which costs about £9.50 a month.
The only service on this list that doesn't show all Premier League games is Peacock. It did show every game at 3 p.m., which is great if you only want to watch games that aren't on Amazon Prime Video, Sky, or TNT.
If you don't have a credit card, you'll need a US payment method to get into Peacock. To get one, sign up for an account on Apple or Google in the US and buy an app store gift card. But our research showed that there is a way around this issue: from any country, you can use a credit card to subscribe to Peacockonline.com.

3. TOD
Commentary Language: English
Price: ~£14.00 per month
Stream Type: Live stream
IP Address Required: UAE
Compatible VPNs: Windscribe Pro
Official Website: https://www.tod.tv/en/sports
A site for streaming the EPL that is easy to use and has English-language commentary.
FORD is an online-only service from beIN Sports, which is a well-known live sports broadcaster. It shows all 380 Premier League games, and unlike Setanta Sports, TOD has great English commentators and analysts.
Famous commentators, such as Richard Keys and Nigel De Jong, give their thoughts on every game. The stream starts out in Arabic, but you can switch to the English feed by clicking on the music note icon in the bottom right corner and choosing "Audio Track 2."
But because of how badly it streams, TOD is not even close to Setanta Sports. The video stream took more than 50 seconds to load, and all of our testers said the quality was very bad.
After doing more research, we found that TOD's best resolution is 720p, but it often dropped to a poor 360p. This happened even though our download speed on Windscribe's server in the UAE was much faster than the 5Mbps needed for HD video.
Because TOD is hard to use, we only suggest it if you want to watch every Premier League game, not just those that start at 3 p.m., with English commentary and pundits. In that case, Setanta Sports or Peacock would be better choices.
4. Skylink
Commentary Language: Czech
Price: ~£10.30 per month
Stream Type: Live stream
IP Address Required: Czech Republic
Compatible VPNs: Windscribe Pro
Official Website: livetv.skylink.cz
It displays every game in Full HD at 60 fps for a low price.
Skylink is ideal for broadcasters who value quality and affordability. However, the streaming site is good at finding and blocking VPNs, so you must change your account region to download on streaming devices.
Skylink is the only service that shows every game without requiring a local phone number or payment information. Setanta Sports doesn't check it, but we created a Skylink account from the UK without any issues.
The £10.30-a-month service streams all Premier League games (it rises to £13.80 after 3 months).
The live matches had better video quality than the free streaming sites we used, which buffered or dropped out during busy times. All Skylink games are Full HD and 60 fps, making them better than their price.
I hate that there's only Czech commentary. To avoid this, we synced live English radio commentary on another device. This is less convenient than Peacock and Fubo, which have English audio tracks.
5. DAZN
Commentary Language: Spanish
Price: ~£26.00 per month
Stream Type: Live stream
IP Address Required: Spain
Compatible VPNs: ExpressVPN & NordVPN
Official Website: dazn.com
Streaming service that focuses on sports and has Spanish commentary.
Live sports streaming website DAZN is well-designed. We found DAZN nowhere near as good as the other Premier League websites.
Setanta Sports and DAZN both broadcast every Premier League game, but DAZN costs more than £23.00 a month. Even though it costs more, DAZN streams in 720p instead of 1080p.
To watch Premier League on DAZN, you need a Spanish account. If you registered in the UK, you will see a padlock icon and cannot stream the game. You can avoid this by buying a gift card and creating a new account.
EPL games can only be watched on DAZN's Spanish library, so all commentary and pundits are in Spanish. You can't change the audio track like TOD or mute it like Setanta Sports to hear stadium noise.
DAZN's MultiView feature was nice and we wished it was everywhere. When we used the streaming service on Saturday at 3 p.m., we could watch up to four games at once and keep up with them.
FuboHard-to-access Premier League content platform with 4K live streams. Commentary Language: English Price: ~£24.00 per month Stream Type: Live stream IP Address Required: Canada Compatible VPNs: NordVPN, Surfshark & Windscribe Free Official Website: fubo.tv Fubo Canada is a great Premier League that broadcasts three 4K games per week. The video feed was better on every device than Setanta and Peacock, which stream in Full HD. Fubo Canada is hard to access, so it's low on our list. The service is unavailable without a Canadian payment method or a friend who does. Fubo blocked all payments made with app store gift cards, international credit cards, and third-party payment services. Subscription was only successful with a Canadian debit card. With English commentary and analysis by experts like Michael Owen and Owen Hargreaves, the service is great to use. The service lacks full match replays, which is annoying. Unfortunately, you must remember to record each match before it starts. |
Top Illegal EPL Streaming Sites to Avoid
Based on what we found, a lot of popular Premier League live stream sites host illegal content. This means that it's against the law to access them. You should never use them anyway.
There are also links on all of these sites to third-party sites that the owners don't check. Some of these sites have malware that could harm your device. With annoying ads, a bad interface, and possible security risks, they are not as good for users as legal alternatives.
1. Hesgoal
Why you should avoid it:
Matches are hosted illegally
Frequent offline video streams
Forces you to disable ad blocker
Pop-up ads and unskippable pre-roll video ads
2. EPLsite
Why you should avoid it:
Matches are hosted illegally
Regular video buffering
Numerous on-page ads
3. TOTALSPORTEK
Why you should avoid it:
Matches are hosted illegally
Malware detected
Playing video opens third party website
How to Watch EPL Games for Cheaper
The Premier League can charge broadcasters more to show games in the UK because that's where the most people want to see them.
We learned that Sky pays over £13 million per game in the UK and just under £1 million per game in the US.
Sky needs to raise the prices of its plans a lot more to make money. The NBC show Peacock costs only £4.75 a month, which is a lot less than Sky Sports' price of around £35.00.
The prices of streaming services are also based on the country where the content can be watched. You pay more for a service in the UK, like Sky Sports, than in Ukraine, like Setanta Sports. This is because people in the UK make more money than people in Ukraine.
The chart below shows how much money you can save by streaming Premier League games on a real site.
