NYPD releases new images of suspects wanted in shooting injuring 10 teens outside Queens nightclub |
Authorities have released chilling new surveillance images of suspects connected to a mass shooting outside the Amazura nightclub in Queens on New Year’s Day. The attack, which injured ten teenagers and young adults, has sparked outrage and prompted urgent calls for justice.
Incident Details
The shooting occurred around 11:20 p.m. outside the nightclub on 144th Place, where a private event was underway with about 90 attendees. The gathering was in honor of Taearion Mungo, a 16-year-old who was fatally shot in Brooklyn last October. He would have turned 17 on January 3.
According to law enforcement, four individuals approached a group standing outside the venue and opened fire, discharging over 30 rounds into the crowd. The assailants fled the scene in a gray Infiniti Q50 with red interior and New Jersey license plates. The vehicle was last seen heading north on the Van Wyck Expressway.
Victims
The shooting left six women and four men, aged 16 to 20, with non-life-threatening injuries. All victims were rushed to nearby hospitals and are expected to recover. The chaotic scene left attendees and bystanders scrambling for safety as bullets struck indiscriminately.
Suspects and New Surveillance Images

The NYPD has released surveillance stills showing four suspects moments before the attack. All suspects are seen wearing hooded sweatshirts, and their faces are obscured, making identification challenging. The images, captured from security cameras outside the nightclub, show the group walking towards the venue before the shooting.
Authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information that could help identify the suspects. "These individuals carried out a senseless act of violence, and we are determined to bring them to justice," said NYPD Chief of Patrol Philip Rivera.
Investigation
Police are investigating whether the shooting was gang-related, noting the potential connection to Taearion Mungo, whose murder last October is still under investigation. Although officials have ruled out terrorism, they have not disclosed any motives.
Mayor Eric Adams condemned the attack in a statement on social media, saying, “There is no place in our city for this type of criminal behavior. We will not tolerate violence that endangers our communities.”
Nightclub Statement
The Amazura nightclub issued a statement expressing sorrow over the incident. "We are deeply saddened by the recent and unfortunate isolated incident that occurred. Our hearts go out to all those affected by this senseless act. We are working closely with law enforcement to ensure a thorough investigation and to help bring those responsible to justice."
Public Appeal
The NYPD has set up a dedicated tip line and is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspects. Officials are hopeful that the newly released images will lead to tips from the public.
As of now, no arrests have been made. The community is rallying to support the victims while urging stronger measures to address gun violence in the city.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are urging vigilance and cooperation as they seek to prevent further acts of violence.
