When is the MLS 2025: Key Dates and Postseason

The defending Supporters’ Shield winners, Inter Miami CF, will host New York City FC to kickoff opening weekend that Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET inside Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

San Diego FC will play its inaugural match as the 30th MLS franchise on the road against the defending champions L.A. Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California on Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. ET.

The Major League Soccer fixtures for next year will be released on Thursday, December 19 at 2 p.m. ET (11 a.m PT / 7 p.m GMT / 8 p.m. CET) by the league.

MLS action returns to MLS Season Pass on Apple TV with all 510 matches available in one dedicated destination with no blackouts in more than 100 countries and regions.

New for this upcoming season, MLS Season Pass will broadcast a featured match on Sunday evenings with enhanced production and dedicated studio programming. More details will be shared at a later date.

Select MLS matches will also be available on the FOX family of networks in the United States and TSN and RDS in Canada.

Inter Miami and the Seattle Sounders are the only MLS clubs participating in the Club World Cup, a 32-team tournament featuring the best clubs in the world. The Concacaf Gold Cup is a tournament between national teams from North America, Central America and the Caribbean.

Other key dates on 2025 MLS schedule:

  • MLS Rivalry Week is May 14-18.
  • League Cup 2025 will be July 29 to August 31.
  • MLS Decision Day, or the final day of the regular season, is Oct. 18.
  • The 2025 MLS Cup playoffs dates will be announced at a later time.

When is MLS 2025 Postseason?

As always, the postseason will begin in the Fall, once the regular season has concluded with 'Decision Day' — the all-important final matchday of the campaign.

The final matchday, known as "Decision Day," will likely take place in late October. While the MLS postseason schedule is not yet known, it will likely begin sometime in late October or early November, shortly after the regular season concludes.
