A body has been discovered during the search for 24-year-old Lacey Lake, who was last seen getting into a taxi on Friday evening before her phone’s location tracker suddenly turned off.

Lacey was last spotted leaving Stonehouse, Plymouth, in a grey Mercedes taxi.

Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed today that they found the body of a woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene in Linton Close, Tamerton Foliot. While the death is currently being treated as unexplained, authorities do not believe it to be suspicious at this time.

Formal identification of the body has not yet taken place, but Lacey’s grieving family has been informed of the discovery.

Tributes have poured in on social media, with loved ones describing Lacey as someone who was "loved beyond words." Her aunt, Sara French, shared the heartbreaking news, writing:

"It is with a broken heart I need to inform my friends and family that Lacey Lake has sadly passed away and her body was found yesterday."

In an official statement, Devon and Cornwall Police said:

*"Police searching for a missing woman from Plymouth have today, 7 January, located the body of a female. Officers were called around 1:20 pm following concerns for the welfare of a woman in Linton Close, Tamerton Foliot.

Paramedics attended, but the woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The death is being treated as unexplained, although it is not currently believed to be suspicious.

The family of 24-year-old Lacey Lake, who was reported missing on Monday, 6 January, has been informed.
