Who was Danielle Bertothy? Woman Suspected of Arson
This likely happened during her New Year's vacation. The businesses, Bar Marea, Marinera, and Artesania Juavia, were burned down. The security camera caught an argument after she was asked to leave the bar because of her drunken and rowdy behavior.
Danielle Bertothy is from Missouri and is accused of starting a fire that destroyed businesses in Puerto Rico. On January 1st, she was seen on video at Bar Marea. The staff thought she was drunk and refused to serve her after two shots. Soon after, a fight happened. The bar's owner said the police took her back to her Airbnb across the street.
Later, she returned and got into another fight. The pub owner called the police again, and they took her back to her Airbnb once more. The police stayed at the bar until it closed.
That night, the woman came back with a can of gasoline and set the businesses on fire.
Bertothy's employer, HLK agency, reportedly suspended her. The agency said, "We were shocked to learn about the event in Puerto Rico earlier today. We haven't been contacted by law enforcement in either Puerto Rico or Missouri but are ready to help if asked. After learning about this, we immediately suspended the employee pending further investigation."
Missouri police also said they talked to Puerto Rican police about the incident but haven't received any requests for help. No arrest warrants have been issued yet.
