Legal Career
Aber's legal journey began with a clerkship under Magistrate Judge M. Hannah Lauck of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia from 2006 to 2007. She briefly practiced as an associate at McGuireWoods from 2007 to 2008 before dedicating her career to public service.
In 2009, Aber joined the EDVA as an Assistant United States Attorney, where she prosecuted cases involving financial fraud, public corruption, violent crime, and child exploitation. Her expertise led to a detail assignment as Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General for the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice from 2015 to 2016.
